Introduction - Youth actions
The youth action consists of a personal experiment which allows young people of Canada living an exchange project with young people of the Dominican Republic, within the framework of a trip to San Pedro de Macoris.
When you select the section luggage project, (Brothers of the Christian schools), it will be necessary to download the file by choosing the documents that you wish to forward to them. You can also view the video of the director, Brother Martin of Santo Domingo.
Luggage project
This project aims at help the Dominican Experience. The young people of Canada bring a second bag which contains various articles intended for the young people of the Dominican Republic. Refer to the left of the screen for various examples.
You want to help the brothers of the Christian schools in a slum area of the capital Santo Domingo (Simon Bolivard). In the section luggage project there is a list of suggestions that the Dominican Experience recommends. This project is left to the creativity of your group. International correspondence and T-shirt project
The goal of this section is to put in contact young Canadians of a primary or secondary class with a class of the same level in Dominican Republic. Young person of Canada writes a letter personalized to his Dominicain correspondent who will answer him afterward.
The Dominican Experience is opened with other innovating projects which come from the teachers or involved young people. The philosophy is based on a reflexion - implication together made by youth or for youth.
Working project at Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos
During one week stay in Dominican Republic, the participant is invited to work one day at the orphanage, Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos with the intention of helping this international organization by carrying out various tasks.
Youth Forum
This forum consists of one day of sharing with the people who lived the Dominican Experience. Together we try to determine the subjects most important for the years to come.
Projects realized and to come ...
Our realizations
Dominican Experience is a project in education. At the end of the experience, young people are invited to write an evaluation of their experience which will be transmitted to the group Rond-Point. This group will take as a starting point the suggestions given by the students of the winter program. This project will be realized in Dominican Republic by the young adults of the group Rond-Point with the animators Dominicain, in the summer.
The cooperative
The cooperative take place in the bateye Ehoscarduna. This work takes form and perseverance and is full of hope of success for the people living in the batays. It is with effort and hope that this community receive water and food a a good price. Together we are strong ! This is the principal idea behing this cooperative.
Summer camps for the Haitiens and the orphanage.
These camps are made possible to the Dominican young people for them to benefit for a good time and leisures. This will create bonds with young people of their age. The animation of the day camps will be made in collaboration with the animators of Canada and animators of the Dominican Republic. These summer camps are made possible to keep the philosophy of the Dominican Experience: education.
Other projects
The Dominican Experience is an innovating educational program. Each year, some projects are proposed. Working with the people of the Dominican Republic, together we creatE realistic projects for the community.
