Selection criteria
When selecting the future sponsored students, we have to be assured that they have the essential qualities to be part of this project. To be assure of the academic success, of the comprehension of the philosophy of the project and of the motivation to help others of the candidate, many condition of admission must be reached. This way, we guarantee that the sponsored student has the potential and has enough will to take to term his or her university studies. Also, we are certain that the student aims the same goals as those propose by the philosophy of the project. Here are our selection criteria that will permit us to choose the students:
- The student must study in his birth country or country of origin.
- The student must present a good school yield and show that he can succeed in his university studies.
- The student must not come from a wealthy family. Before giving such a chance to a student, we choose people who are truly in need, those who cannot afford to go to university.
- The student must show leadership, manifest a remarqued openness and express himself easily.
- Each candidate to university sponsorship ha to pass an interview before being admited into the project. During this interview, each student has to present the following completed documents:
- The family history, of a minimum of two pages;
- A written, clear, and precise definition of the main goals he wishes to reach in his life
- An example of a possible student budget. This budget includes university fees, transport to and from the university, one meal a day, and school items (books, photocopying fees, one hour of internet access per week).
- A visit of the house of each candidate is foreseen so that we can meet family members and become aware of his way of living.
- The student must be motivated to wok for the development of his country.
- The student must not aspire to lead a better life in another country.
